HINDU-MUSLIM WEDDING IN JAIPUR, INDIA

I was very fortunate to stumble along a marriage between a Hindu bride and a Muslim groom in Jaipur on my first day in India! Actually, a better description is that I was enveloped by a procession of the marriage that passed beside our hotel. I must have followed the for miles and it ended in a beautiful plaza in the heart of the Muslim quarter of the city.

It was interesting to see the significant contrast between the colorful and energetic culture of the bride’s Hindu family and friends to the austere, monochromatic and solemn of the groom’s people.

The bride and groom were about to embark on a very interesting life together as they somehow find a way to blend the elements from both cultures, and it would be fascinating to watch it unfold!
